Summary / Abstract (Note)This paper examines the extent and the functioning of groundwater markets, their adaptation to the dropping water tables and the extent to which commercial transactions in groundwater is competitive. Evidence provided in this paper indicates that the water markets are interlinked with other agrarian markets such as for labour and product.
