Summary / Abstract (Note)Using farm level data collected by periodic surveys in Central Luzon during the last two decades (1966-87), this paper attempts to identify the causes and the consequences of green revolution represented by adoption of modern rice varieties (MVs). We found that contrary to popular belief, adoption of MVs did not cause subsequent adoption of labor saving technologies.
