Summary / Abstract (Note)This paper proposes a method of constructing a surrogate for the Net Stock of "Anything" that can depreciate, dissipate or become obsolete, when the only available information is a series on gross additions to the stock, e.g. a gross investment series, a series on new purchases of the given durable goods, etc.
