AuthorPelzman, Joseph
Summary / Abstract (Note)This paper demonstrates that Israeli policy makers have increased the set of 'hidden' tariff barriers as they have reduced the 'official' duties. This practice of attempting to maintain U. S. import prices in Israel at their pre-FTA levels in perpetuity, compels the Israeli public to pay unnecessarily high import duties on U. S. products and erodes U. S. exports to Israel.
