Summary / Abstract (Note)Between 1985-86 and 1993-94, Verkadu for the first time witnessed partial modernisation of agriculture with a few big farmers acquiring tractors and pumpsets. But this had not resulted in any substantial improvements either in the cropping intensity or in the labour utilisation per unit of land or in the productivity of paddy which was the main crop of the village.
