Summary / Abstract (Note)This paper is largely concerned with demonstrating that below-cost sales of component parts to assemblers of consumer durables can also be looked upon as promotional expenditures. Further, it is contended that these expenditures are justified by the profits subsequently obtained by the parts manufacturers on replacement sales to consumers.
