Summary / Abstract (Note)For most of the past four decades electricity was, to quote power company advertisements, "(one of) the biggest bargain(s) in the family budget.". the real price of electricity showed a secular decline because the industry found it possible to exploit scale economies in plant and transmission system design as its market expanded.
