Summary / Abstract (Note) | In real life, indivisibilities make the consumer trade in discrete steps - he first buys all the bread he needs, then all the tobacco he needs, and so on. In economic theory, where commodities are traditionally assumed to be perfectly divisible, the consumer may be take to trade along a continuous curve. This curve, which connects the initial endowment with the final endowment will be called the transformation path. |
