Summary / Abstract (Note)The Employment Service (ES) is one of the oldest and most visible of the Federal-State labor market institutions, yet surprisingly little is known of its effectiveness. In this paper, I outline a technique for evalusting the ES from administrative reporting systems presently operative in many states.
