Dr. Bhatia starts with the reflection that with an investment rate of 23-25%, the growth of the Indian economy should show better results, as other countries demonstrate. And so he questions whether the fundamentals of the 'Nehru-Mahalanobis Strategy" with massive investments in highly capital intensive sectors could be one of the reasons for the relatively slow growth rates.
