Summary/Abstract Monetary and exchange rate policy is discussed within the framework of a portfolio model of economy. The model, which stresses the importance of imperfect substitutability between domestic and foreign linked bonds, draws on the Israeli experience of big portfolio shifts between these types of assets and the ensuring high inflation period.
