The findings of the study reveal that the dairy units in both, Patiala and Sangrur districts were viable, with or without the inclusion of family labour. The average per litre cost of milk production was Rs 8.24 in Patiala and Rs 8.07 in Sangrur district. The investment generated 98 mandays of employment per buffalo in each of Patiala and Sangrur districts.
