Summary/Abstract
National Institute of Bank Management undertook a study of Evaluation of the Soft Loan Scheme during 1986. This exercise was done on the basis of actual performance of the scheme vis-a-vis its set objectives. Based on our interviews with company executives, financial analysis and discussions with IDBI officials, some suggestions are offered in the report for an effective implementation of the scheme.

Out data analysis suggests that Equity:Debt reduced over the years for several reasons which are explained in this report. Further, the monitory exercise needed at the corporate and grass root level is also explained in it.
