With a clear accent on competitiveness, globalisation exercises significant pressure upon those enterprises long protected and assured of much of the domestic market. Through a case study of one of highly regulated industries, that of the pharmaceuticals, this paper enquires into the implications of the technological paradigm shift for small enterprises.
