Apiculture offers variety of opportunities for communities of economically backward category because it is a low investment activity. In addition, it is flexible enough to match any scale of operation and is, therefore, ideally suitable for small farmers. Beekeeping can be done as an income generating activity to improve the economic conditions of rural women.
