This study aims to document socioeconomic changes in a rice village in the Province of Laguna during the past two decades since the advent of modern semi-dwarf varieties (MV) of rice in the late 1960s. It is of a major interest to trace out the impacts of the technological innovation on agrarian organization and rural life.
